Tumi Sando Gadget Bag Review

sando1

A couple of weeks ago we featured our Top 10 Ultimate Metrosexual Man Bags list. It wasn’t easy to pick a designer to go with from this awesome list, but we did. The man bag that seemed to fit our purpose of being able to carry a cell phone, mini dv camcorder (for the goxini vlog and vodcast), extra tapes, batteries, wallet, pens, a notepad and nintendo ds lite is none other than the Tumi Sando Gadget Bag.

Tumi touts the bag as “A stylish way to organize all the little things. Features include two interior compartments with multiple accessories pocket and flap closure with pocket.” We just call it sick!

The gadget bag comes in three colors – Cinder (orange), Black or Khaki. We chose khaki because it’s a durable color, subtle enough to match everything and isn’t boring like black.

The bag is small and light enough to carry around daily. Exact dimensions are 10.5″ x8″ x 4.5″.
sando3

As usual, Tumi puts great finishing touches on their bags. I love their use of brushed aluminum on the front buckle lock as well as the zipper pulls.
sando2

With the flap open, they put a passport holder on the front facia for quick access during travel.
sando4

Unzip the front flap and you’ll find a hidden storage compartment for all sorts of goodies including credit card pockets, a place for your ID, a button-locked screen pouch and a zippered slot to keep things secure.
sando5

The main compartment is about three inches wide so it’s spacious enough to fit a slim camera or cellphone into.
sando6

Crazy the amount of thought they put into putting this gadget bag together!
sando7

On the back side of the Tumi Sando Gadget Bag is a nice slot for papers or a notepad.
sando8

You also don’t want your keys flopping around or just thrown into the main compartment which could scratch expensive electronics. Tumi has included a nice drawstring keychain to keep your keys together and easy to access.
sando9

Can’t wait to use this man bag! :)

Looking for the must have mobile-phone accessory? It’s here and it’s called the MBW-100, a Bluetooth Watch from Sony Ericsson. Forget having to pull your cellphone out of your pocket to see who’s calling. The Sony Ericsson MBW-100 has a stylish OLED display that will not only show who’s calling, but allows you to reject calls with a simple key press. Want to check your text-messages as well or control the music player on your phone, it does that too!

Usually something like this would looky pretty damn bulky and ugly, but Sony hooked up with Fossil to create a work of art. The sleek lines, and classic looks are crafted from high quality stainless steel with a nice silver facia. The watch will be released in Q4 for an approximate price of $380.

Top 10 Ultimate Metrosexual Man Bags

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

One of the smartest metrosexual Wookies around, Chewbacca knew the benefits of carrying a bag!

In choosing a man bag, the criteria should be as follows: small, sleek, lightweight, and definitely not look like a purse. It’s a way to carry a little something extra that wouldn’t fit into the pockets of a pair of khakis without creating unsightly bulges. Briefcases, messenger bags and backpacks are not man bags. They are too large and bulky to carry on a daily basis without looking like you’re headed to school or work. Fannypacks are a no-no, unless you want to look like an ubergeek and repel women. Also, stay away from fancy designs, patterns, or the color pink. Flight, utility, and certain camera bags generally fall into the category of man bags.

Finding man bags that are worthy of carrying on a daily basis can be a bit of work, so we’ve created a list of the Top 10 Ultimate Metrosexual Man Bags to get you started!

TAG Heuer SLR for Mercedes-Benz

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

tag_slr

An exceptional chronograph for a mythic automobile in a limited edition; the dream becomes accessible to almost everyone. After the incredible success of the first “SLR Chronograph by TAG Heuer“ Calibre 36-R at Baselworld 2004, TAG Heuer proudly launches the TAG Heuer SLR for Mercedes-Benz, an exceptional new piece of watchmaking prowess. Destined for fans of exclusive automobiles and connoisseurs of high-end timepieces, the new SLR chronograph celebrates the long and fruitful alliance between TAG Heuer, McLaren and Mercedes-Benz.

The first SLR chronograph, produced in 2004, marked the next step in a partnership that has linked Mercedes-Benz with TAG Heuer since 1995 (and McLaren since 1985) These high-luxury brands share the same values dearly: performance, design, prestige, innovation, and, of course, a passion for car racing. These values find their roots in their mutual history and heritage. In 1955 Juan Manuel Fangio drove the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR (Sports, Light, Racing) “Silver Arrow” around the hairpin turns of the “Mille Miglia,” one of the most breathtaking circuits in motor racing. Fangio was wearing on his wrist that day, just as every Formula One driver since, a TAG Heuer timepiece – called Heuer at the time.

From zero to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of over 300 km/h, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, launched in 2003, is one of the world’s most powerful and exclusive sports cars. Like the high-performance, luxury sports car that inspired it, the TAG Heuer SLR for Mercedes-Benz is an audacious creation, blending Classicism and Avant-Garde, with an overall design that reflects the values of the “dream car”: power, performance, motor-racing spirit, innovation and elegance. Launched in a limited edition of 3,500 pcs, its pushbuttons are boldly positioned on the top of the case, ergonomically inclined at 45 degrees; a timekeeping scale is audaciously placed inside the case on a rotating, mechanic, unidirectional ring driven by a second crown at 9 o’clock. The exterior bezel, elegantly polished in black finish and engraved “SLR,” is thus able to feature a tachymeter, like those used by professional racers to calculate speed. To accentuate these innovations even further, the dial features superbly high-end finishings: ten double index diamond facets have been applied by hand one-by-one; two rhodium-plated rings elegantly circle the counters at 3 and 9 o’clock; and the hands have been diamond-tipped by hand.

The alliance of two brands of prestige – “TAG Heuer” and “Mercedes-Benz” – discretely adorn the dial in silver at 12 o’clock.
The chronograph’s classic alligator bracelet is boldly integrated inside the case, thus allowing for a perfectly streamlined profile on the wrist. The bracelet also features a safety buckle operated by pushbuttons and engraved with “SLR.”

A strong design (43mm diameter) for a powerful automobile, the TAG Heuer SLR for Mercedes-Benz is a high-end creation of character reserved for admirers of the world’s most exclusive timepieces.
