Day 26 - Got Me Going Single and Video
Saturday, March 22nd, 2008Danity Kane may be the first out of the gates with their sophomore album, but Day 26 will be right on their heels this Tuesday, March 25th with their own album entitled “Day 26.”
The lead single will be “Got Me Going” and it definitely has a smooth vibe to it. So the question begs, who’s got the edge? As much as I love the boys, I think they girls may have won this match. What do you think?
The last question is what Donnie will have in store for us. I’m pretty sure his slow love songs are gonna melt quite a few hearts.

Becoming Jane
Saturday, March 22nd, 2008The “Jane” is Jane Austen and this is a fictional depiction of her young adult life before her novel writing career. I suppose half of the tale is based on fact such as she rejected a marriage proposal, and half the tale is made up to create engaging story-telling. But that’s not important.
The essence of the story is the mores of proper English society around 1800. Woman had their place. And that place was to give oneself to an arranged marriage and become a dutiful wife and mother. It was even more important to be in these roles if you were a daughter of a minister of modest means who had lots of children to care for. Jane was one of those children.
But Jane has spunk and smarts and a stubbornness to live her own life as she sees fit. Anne Hathaway plays young Jane convincingly and Anne’s good looks are played down as much as possible. It’s Jane’s inner self that makes her attractive and not her exterior appearance.
And she is so attractive that she has three suitors; the rich and dull one, the poor and roguish one, and a secret and nefarious one. This circumstance allows us to see England from the various social strata, which is fun and informative.
Jane, 200 years ahead of her time, shows beauty and grace and charm and spirit, and will not buckle to her day’s lot in life. We should all have such courage “… to follow our bliss” knowing we have but one life to live.
I was so so touched by the last scene, that when they, Jane and Tom met again maybe 2 decades later, Jane read her masterpiece for Jane Lefroy, the eldest daughter of Tom. People usually name their children the name of the person they loved, or are loving.
“I have no money, no property, I am entirely dependent upon that bizarre old lunatic, my uncle. I cannot yet offer marriage. But you must know what I feel. Jane, I’m yours.Gah, I’m yours. I’m yours, heart and soul.”

Top Fashion Trends for Spring/Summer 2008
Monday, March 17th, 2008So, Spring is around the corner and you still don’t know what to wear? This is a classic problem that many of us have. To make it easy and clarify this situation, we will let you know some of the hottest trends for Spring/Summer 2008!
Trend #1: Floral is back!
Being feminine and flirty is in once again, from the catwalks of designers such as Ralph Lauren, beautiful dresses and flowing gowns abound. Want to incorporate this trend, but don’t know how? Then follow these tips: a) Add a great accessory, such as a silk scarf or hair clip, to jazz up any ensemble; b) Start basic with a floral screen print t-shirt or maybe an appliqué on jeans and pants; c) Draw attention with a floral print on your shoes, this works best with a pair of pumps with at least a 3″ heel; d) Go bold by wearing a floral print dress.
Trend #2: Bright Colors & 80’s Glam!
The influence of the 80’s is back in a reincarnation of encouragement to wear bright colors. This is a great trend for both men and women to embrace. Here’s how: a) Ladies, add a bright plastic bangle, funky shoes , or glittering barrette to give you a kick; b) Gentlemen, add bright colors through accessories such as sunglasses, belts, and watches.
Trend #3: Go Metallic!
From glam golds to shimmering silver to blushing bronze, metallics are in this season. Since they are the new neutral, they can easily replace your drab taupes and beiges. This is an easy trend to take hold of, for women, handbags and footwear is the best place to start. For men, accents, such as belt buckles, ties, and sunglasses can add the extra zing.
These are the three biggest trends of the season, and you can’t go wrong if you try them out. So remember, be brave, be bold, and always be fabulous! Happy Shopping!

Janina San Miguel Miss Philippines 2008 Fails Under Pressure
Friday, March 14th, 2008A Miss World winner usually consists of beauty and brains, and I’m not sure Janina San Miguel who was crowned Bb. Pilipinas 2008 to represent the Philippines in Miss World 2008 captured that essence.
The 17-year-old started out very confident as she took the stage to answer an easy question about her family’s role in her pageant competition, but quickly failed under pressure. It’s not her broken grammar that bothers me, it’s the fact that she never really answered the question.
