Nike Sportswear and Grammy award winning recording artist Kanye West present the highly anticipated Nike Air Yeezy sneaker for Spring 2009. The shoe’s name is derived from Kanye’s nickname Yeezy, and reflects his unique style.

Emblazoned across the Air Yeezy is an exclusive “Y” repeat pattern, as either a debossed or lasered detail, which takes inspiration from the Jordan brands iconic Elephant print material.

This graphic treatment was developed by West and Smith to pay tribute not only to the name of the shoe and it’s co-creator, but also to the various moments in history that spurred West’s initial inspiration for the Nike Air Yeezy.

In celebration of Nike’s summer sporting event, Nike has teamed up with Opening Ceremony to offer exclusive products that will only be available through Opening Ceremony New York and Los Angeles boutiques on 8.8.08.

The Air Max 1, Nike’s first sneaker to offer visible Nike Air technology in the sole and originally released in 1987, has become one of its most iconic products. It will be available in very limited quanities in two colors, gold and silver metallic, and will be stocked solely at Opening Ceremony.
