Takashi Murakami helps celebrate the 40th anniversary of Japanese radio station Tokyo FM with this special G-SHOCK Frogman design. Having hosted the on-air “Art Dojo FM” show for the past 8 years, Murakami’s influence on the station is apparent through his weekly contributions.

The watch itself plays off Murakami’s signature artwork, with the base featuring a translucent pink motif, accented with engraved artwork on the backside and a complimenting watch pillow decked out in a familiar flower print.

The V02($199) uses two ‘compass needle’ hands, the short hand representing the hours and the long the minutes as on any other watch. Each hand has one red and one white end where each color corresponds to the number with the matching color on the dial.

The design draws heavily on the Scandinavian design tradition using simple geometries and materials often found in architecture. The solid stainless steel case comes in four different colors/surfaces (black, brushed, polished and gold), the watch has a mineral glass crystal and the strap is made of genuine leather. The main objective has been to create a unique product using as simple geometries as possible and bring them to life by using honest, traditional materials. The movement is made in Japan.

Swiss watchmaker Oris has released the Oris Swiss Hunter Team Limited Edition watch to commemorate the life of the legendary Hawker Hunter jet. This elegantly designed watch comes with a 46mm anthracite PVD case, a beveled top ring and an oversized screw down crown.
